Yesterday we took a stroll in YANESEN area.
Noriko and I met with Hsing (a tourist) at the exit of JR Nippori Sta and we began the tour from the station. First we went to Tokugawa's grave at Yanaka Cemetery.
Founded in 1874. Many celebrities including Taikan Yokoyama are here. Also famous for a signt in cherry blossoms' season.
We browsed around in that area such as Yuyake dan dan(a scenic stairs(=dan dan) to see sunset (=Yuyake)), old wall, Hebi michi, Yanaka Ginza (old Japanese style shopping arcade), Sawanoya (Japanese style Inn), and so on...
And then we went to Nezu Shrine.
The old shrine established in 1705 by "Yamato Takeruno Mikoto", a legendary priest. And Tunayoshi Tokugawa, the 5th Shogun, established structures. Otome Inari is also a must to see. ↓
Then we walked to Ueno Park. and we had a lunch. (Thank you for the treat!)
I like this area. If you go there, you can easily time-trip to Edo Era. You must bring back your memories.
